The vision Center for Women in Medicine has evolved as a result of coaching and counseling individual female physicians, beginning in 2002, and expanding to include medical students in 2003-4. As a result of this work, we have seen a need to provide resources and encouragement to this group of caregivers who give so much to our society.
The Center is committed to proactively creating and providing resources which will enhance women's lives as they live out their calling to care for others as a physician. The Center is a 501(c)(3) organization and is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board is responsible for establishing all organizational policies as well as reviewing and approving all program initiatives. Debbie Smith serves as the Center's Executive Director, and as such, she is responsible for leading and managing the Center's programs and initiatives.
